The Buenos Aires Tango Festival is the biggest tango festival in the world, attracting half a million people to watch the two week long dance competition. With thousands of dancers, street vendors selling souvenirs, local cuisine, and authentic Argentinian tango music playing in the streets.
Thousands of dancers participate in the competition, all vying for the Dance World Cup Title and trophy. They are judged on creativity, originality and how they incorporate the traditional elements of the Argentinian tango.
The festival is free, but participants can spend money on tango classes and seminars (beginning and advanced classes are offered) to pick up some moves.
