Taking place since 1987, the International Kite Festival in Fuerteventura, Spain is a three-day event where visitors from around the world assemble at the La Playa Del Burro beach, alongside the Corralejo Dunes.
The Friday of the festival is an all day “free fly” followed by a “Stars of the Kite” presentation by skilled flyers on Saturday. On Sunday, 150 kites are given to children and there is a kite combat, where two stunt kites battle it out in the air, until one falls.
