The Zurich Carnival is the biggest folk festival of the winter and this festival has it all – musical performances, carnival shows, folklore presentations, and steel band concerts are all part of the festivities.
Dating back to the middle ages, the ZuriCarneval occurs from Thursday to Tuesday.
The highlight of the festival is a spectacular street show where participants dress up in inventive and colorful costumes. The grand parade takes place on Sunday afternoon through Zurich’s city center, where Guggen music plays and many dress up in masks, and as witches.
The Guggen Monster Concert takes place in a tent in Münsterhof square.
