Dating back to 1988 when the World Health Organization announced the first World AIDS Day, it is now a celebrated and recognized day, celebrated in many ways around the globe.
With the goal of educating and informing, each year there is a new theme to Ethiopia’s World AIDS Day. Last year it was celebrated with the message “Getting to Zero: Zero New HIV Infections, Zero Discrimination and Zero AIDS Related Deaths.”
Participants dress up in traditional garb and celebrate with presentations, dances, and music.
